got a 75 with a 258 and the cooling fan is loosing a blade so I was wondering if there was a other vehicle that i could rob a fan from? the local jeep wrecking yard sucks!!! what about a 4.0 fan?

    be careful
any 4.2 or 4.0 with serpentine drive is reverse rotation, including the fan.
I'd look at Summit catalog if you have the time....good HD all steel units
    I'd avoid a flex fan...that's my opinion
I've seen steel replacement fans here locally in Pep Boys or parts houses as well

I'd fasten any electric fan in there from any car. Just make sure its blowing the right way. Wire in a kill switch on the dash, which would be very benefitial when crossing water. Watch your heat for the first few days to make sure the fan is pushing enough air to keep from overheating.

My friend did this on his wrangler and got some extra power from ditching the mechanical fan.

The electric fan from a Taurus is a popular junkyard upgrade. Lots of info on the web - google the Pirate site.

While I am a firm believer in electric fans, I'm getting ready to pull the fan blade off the donor 4.2 that I have. You can have it if you want

its 115 deg in the summer in nor-cal. Ive been told that a electric fan doesn't pull as much air as a belt driven fan. anyone else live in one of hells suburbs and use a electric fan?

IMHO an electric fan that is sized right should keep the motor cooler than a mechanical fan since it doesn't rely on engine RPMs.
