    Ok...

My Kaiser has a Dauntless 225. The original heater was removed, and someone topped the water pump heater hose connection with a rubber cap and a clamp. The rubber cap blows off whenever sufficient pressure builds in the system. I would like to either install an aftermarket heater or just bypass the system with a hose connection into the water jacket. The problem is, not being familiar with the 225, I can't find the outlet. I've looked on and around the usual locations on the intake.

Where is the other connection ???!!!

My 225 isn't hooked up, but the best I can tell is one out of the water pump just past the radiator hose, the other just behind the thermostat on the left side( looking from the front of the engine).

My '68 had a connection on the back passenger corner of the intake manifold. I don't have a heater at the moment, so I used threaded plugs to block off the two connections. The one in the intake manifold screwed right in. For the one on the water pump, I put the plug in the heater hose and clamped it real tight. No issues a year later (except fot the fact I haven't gotten a heater in).

Usually most people run a hose between the two connections.;)

Well yeah... LOL. That would be my definite preference. Now if I could find connection number "two" it would make the process a whole lot easier.

Hope this helps...the pic is of my '68 Dauntless taken looking at the rear of the motor (as if you were sitting in the driver's seat). The heater hose connection is at the right corner of the intake manifold, sticking up pointing to the left (follow me?).

    Aha!!! Thank you Flat47 !

It appears the reason I couldn't find the connection is that someone at some point threaded something into the hole and broke it off flush with the surface of the intake.

    Now... getting it out :smash:
