Can anyone tell me if there are other vehicles with stock type steel wheels that will fit on a 1961 CJ 5. 5 on 51/2 I think.
I would be interested in 15" or 16".
    Thanks
    John

Just be sure and check the center hole on the Ford rims. Some have the correct bolt pattern but the center hole is too small to clear lock out hubs on a CJ.

What were the old Suzuki 4x4's that had 16"x4.5" wheels that were nearly a dead ringer for Willys Jeep wheels? FJ40's or something like that? They were nearly identical except for an extra hole in the hub, like an extra lug hole that was off-center.

    FJ40s were Toyota Landcruisers. ;)

But I know what you are talking about Ron, can't recall what they were called.

Suzuki LJ10. I had a set for my flatty, very cool wheels, welded centers, not riveted, great for tubeless duty. they are easy to spot because of that funny hole.....

Thanks! I knew it was something odd, my memory's shot. I can't believe I don't have a photo of one of those wheels, but I do know a guy that has a set of them in the crawlspace under his house. You wouldn't believe the parts under this guy's house! Absolutely mind-boggling.

I think the hole was for mass-produstion. That way they could throw 5 rims on the vehicle without switching tooling, 1 spare, 4 runners. The hole was for a lock? I've seen Yoda Tocoma's with it too. but the ooold ones. Well... 1990. Hey it's old to me?
The guy who built our trailer used for rims that didn't fit over the center hubs... He used a plasma cutter and it's been off balance since

We bought new 5.5 x 5 rims from the local truck shop, they cut out the center hole to fit the hubs.

Of course, when the accident happened without the stamped ridge around the center the lug holes ripped right open-

I think old Dodge 4x4 rims work too. I have a set of the Fords on my 61', 15 x 5.5s. Not original, but it's not my resto anyway. They do have 4 nubs for hub caps though. I'm going put an original set on before winter with my HDT tires, and ditch the Ford rims.
