Does anyone run a front trianglulated 4 link,or has built one for a late 70's CJ-5.If so I could use any pics or measurements that anyone can spare.I am thinking of building one and installing it on my 79 CJ-5.I have been reading and talking to people all day and I am more confused now than when I started thinking about it:?If I get it done I plan on doing the rear this winter,is it even possible to only do the front and leave the rear on leaf springs? Is it safe? Thanks in advance Nick

the problem with a triangulated 4 link in the front is clearance issues, mainly related to the engine, oil pan etc.

Another problem is the steering does not follow the same track a triangulated 4 link does. A panhard 5 link (Jeep TJ) does follow the steering track (no bump steer). Ford used radius arms for years with excellent results. Rover still does as far as I know.

I agree, 5 link with track bar way to go. Remember to have the track bar ( the diagonal bar that goes from the drivers side frame to the pass side axle tube and holds the axle from moving sise to side) and the steering link ( from the steering box to the steering knuckle) are as close to parallel as poss ( same distance between them the whole way) It will help with the bumpsteer. Good luck
