Have a few things i've ran into, I'm going to be installing some tow hooks soon, hopefuly tomorrow, and was wanting suggestions on where to place them so that they are sturdy and accessable, the straps won't rub on the body/bumper/etc

Also, the dash lights are not working, i've ran the issue down to the orange cable that comes out from the head light switch, it has a connector on it but does not connec to anything, i've been reading the diagram from the Chiltons books but am having a hard time limiting it down. Could someone please let me know if this goes into a fuse or is wired into the dash lights.

    Thanks

that does help some, but the diagram is from models earlier than mine. If no one has the info off hand, it's alright becuase this winter it gets parked for a month and i'm going to take the dash off and really dig into it, there are a few connectors that are, well, not connected to anything.

You're gonna be best off if you mount the tow hooks to the frame. Pretty much anywhere else and whatever they're attached to will be quickly torn off. Gettin winched or yanked out of a stuck, as either the stuckie or the unsticker most times generates more force than you would believe.

For the dash. Chiltons worked fairly well for me, but I really had to study it closely. The fun part is trying to decypher why the PO did what he did. Or Undid.
When you get around to breaking the dash open, be very careful in there. After 30 years, a lot of plastic parts become brittle and break at almost the slightest touch. Some of those bits are unobtainable. No need to ask me how I know this.

Thanks, I agree it'll be easier to work with the elctrical stuff when I really have time to dig into it, but back to the other half of the question

I'm planning on putting on on the front and one on the back, I know I'll need to drill into the frame to install them properly but any advise from experiance as to where is a good spot, everyone I looked it seemed like it was going to rub the body or bumper or somewhere else.
