Before I start on the construction of my sliders, I just wanted to make sure that there is nobody that builds half way decent sliders for and 72-75 cj5. Searched here and the web with no luck.

For about $100 I can get the metal. Does this sound right?: 3/16" bent 5" x 5" to bolt under body and to the sides. Then I'll weld on a side tube for a spacer/step. I plan on medium trail rides with occasional trees, rocks and stumps.

Also, does someone make the front hoop and spreaders to attach to the factory sport bar for the 72-75??? No luck here either and I don't have access to the right type of bender for this.

    Thanks in advance!

This is the route I am planning for the sliders. Probably taking the tube straight out instead of up at an angle.

Smittybilt makes a weld-in front hoop and spreaders. Last I looked, 4WDH carried it. Price wasn't bad, but shipping was outrageous due to overall package size...

I did this on my YJ, I imagine you could do it for a CJ5 too... if you know someone at the local exhaust shop they could make the 4 bends you need.

Here is a variation on a CJ7 that I got the idea from

The bender and metal is no problem - we use lots at the shop.

jeepfreak - is that a square piece of tubing under and sticking out of the lip of the body. I like that idea and yes I do want to look into that design - more pics??? How do you attach to the bottom of the body/frame?

I have talked to completeoffroad about it. I have not cross them off. They have a CJ7 kit that can be modified for a CJ5.
