Had to chuckle at the new paint and top in 1978.

    Wow.

I don't foresee mine getting back to that condition.... But mine had the original top. It is sitting next to my trash can if you buy this one and want an original, of course it stinks and is full of holes.

thanks for the pix, it is inspiration

I will admitt that I am not up on Tuxs a lot so I have to take the guys word that everything is original on it. That being the case, in the pic of the dash, the layout is a lot different then most layouts that I am used to. Was that layout common to Tuxs and anybody know the reasoning behind it. Seems like ign sw. and light sw. would not be very handy clear over by the passenger grab bar.

Looks right to me. I am not sure about the hole or button below the choke.

Sounds like maybe on the early CJ5s that was common. Learn something new everyday. I always thought that all the controls were like mine on all CJ5s.

    :drool:wow. thats clean!
It seems like alot of money at first tell you add up all the cost of rebuilding/restoring one. Hope someone keeps it original like that. Really nice!
and first year for v6, cj6, tux. thats rare!

Looked like it was on the wrong side of the dash to me too Mike.

I had no idea they moved stuff around. My '62 CJ-5 had the ignition switch on the left side of the speedo.

The dash I bought to use in SSDutch had the ignition to the right - I remember because I had to fill the hole.

Must have been a popular year for 6As. This one is #382 according to the VIN. Mine is #235, and is a 66model built in late 65. That means over 147 1966 Cj6As. That is a lot considering a total of 459 built over 12 years!

Nevermind, I see from production #s there were 160 built for '66, and I brain faded on the fact that the tux park model ended well before the 6.

Very nice indeed. I would think he would get more hits if he had either CJ6 or CJ-6 in his auction title or description. I was checking out CJ6's last night on eBay and it never came up because of that fact.

I've never really seen a CJ-6 with a full top and from the pictures it looks like a newer Unlimited.
