I have a missing wiper pivot point. I am missing the pasenger side nipple that the wiper arm slides over. All I have is a hole under the windshield. I may also need the connecting rod that connects the driver side wiper to the passenger side wiper. The driver side works properly but the wiper arm pops off when I turn it on. A few quetions

    1. Where can I buy these parts? besides the wiper motor, I'd like to buy a whole new unit. The are not avil at JC Whit or 4wd.

    2. How do I get in there to work on it? Remove windshield? Dash?

Until my manuals come in I dont know the correct name/part number for anything on this fella.

Just from what I recall reading here - I think the '76-up linkage can be made to work, but it needs to be cut and welded; the length is wrong. Did you search? Other than used, I'm pretty sure the pre-76 parts are NLA.

IIRC there are two holes in the back of the windshield frame, under the padded dash if you have one. They are normally capped with plastic plugs. Those, and through the vent holes for the defroster between the cowl and the windshield, are your access.

Call the folks at www.lousjeep.com. I have them local. I picked one up for my '73 for about ~$25 or less. Talk to Ted in the parts department. He is an EXCELLENT resources. Almost as good as timgr.

I'll second what Stewed3153 said. The parts guy at Lou's is great.

You might also try 4wd hardware. www.4wd.com they might have what you are looking for. They have lots of stuff. Just a thought though. Hope you figure it out. Good luck.

If you can get NOS or such, go for it. I bought '76 stuff:
    Long wiper arm & pivot 4wd-5453958 1 44.99
    Short Wiper Pivot 4wd-5453957 1 33.29
    Wiper Arm 4wd-5758005 2 x11.69 23.38
    Wiper Blade 4wd-1111 2 x7.19 14.38
    Wiper Knob 4wd-5459189 1 8.55
    Wiper Motor 4wd-989935 1 87.29
    Wiper Motor Link 4wd-5453960 1 7.19
    Wiper Motor Switch Q-55312 1 13.99
    Wiper Pivot gasket 4wd-973658 2 1.13 2.26
    Wiper Pivot Nut 4wd-4005672 2 4.49 8.98
    Wiper Pivot Spacer 4wd-5459081 2 5.39 10.78
    Wiper Rod Clip 4wd-957868 2 1.58 3.16
    Wiper Switch 4wd-5460089 1 13.49

Add 3" exactly to length of part #5453958, piece of round stock works great.
    4wd is 4wd.com part #, Q is quadratec.

I bought a whole new linkage kit for a '76. When it gets here I will be cutting, welding, drilling and anything else to make it fit.
