what do you use for a rollbar?

Picking up a CJ2A Friday and just wondering what everyone is using for a rollbar? Do the ones for early CJ5s work or is it a custom one needed? I might end up going with a full custom cage as this will be wheeled fairly hard but that is a long ways off.

If you plan on wheeling hard, do the roll bar right away. You should live to not regret it.:)

i put a roll bar from a 1965 cj5 in a 1964 cj3b one time.worked fine for me,and fit good.i think the rear of the tubs are about the same on the cj3b and the cj2a.

I picked up a roll bar out of a 76 Cj5. A little rounding off the rear corners of plate and it fits and looks perfect. Mine will be light duty use though. One of the main reasons I wanted this one is for the seat belts.

Get a sport bar (roll bar) from somewhere, and then order the front cage parts from these guys. That way you can start out with the bar behind the seat and then add the front hoop and spreader bars later. :) :coffee:

get the one in the upper right, there is no shipping charge with it.R)

The others have shipping charges added to them and could get quite expensive.

    97XJ_95YJ I hate torx bolts

I would say that if you're going to see some serious trails, then a custom cage is what you should be thinking.

Serious trails a custom cage is the best, but to get you started a ECJ5 cage works fine, it is what I have. I plan to add sport bars and frame tie in's later to it

Custom cage built from 1.5 X .120 DOM tubing, tied into frame at rear, behind seats, infront of seats and at the grill. My son put it on it's lid a couple of weeks ago and the only thing bent was a little crumple on the hood and some scratched paint.

    Sledgehammer Sure, I'll try it

I know I've been wanting a cage in mine for a while. My prob is I can't find anyone around here to build/install one. I know I could do it but w/o pipe bender I'd rather leave it to the pros.

Hey, Kbtriumph - what's the chance of a few better pix of that rig - especially the cage? The underside's great and all, but the cage obviously did the trick.
