hey guys. i just got my fiberglass tub. for a 74 cj6. my concern is (i have read about this also) the body is not indented for the windsheild hinges.

how do i make my hinges work? can the body shop modify the body? or is there a differant hinge i dont know about? my hinges are at the body shop so i have no referance.

I know it is off topic, but where did you get your CJ6 tub from? Is it an intermediate body? I have been looking for one for my '74.

    Sorry for the hijack.

ok thanks guys. i dont care if they are not flush. i just didnt know if the holes would line up.

the body did come from jcw. it was a good price. and really the tub is good. this is the first fiberglass tub that i have seen. so i dont have alot of experience with them. i researced what others had said about them on this site and i think i had a pretty good expectation of what i was getting when i ordered it.

overall it is not perfect but once i get all the hardware and paint on it i dont think it will make any differance. besides its a jeep not a corvette! i am just going to drive the s#!t out of it! and have fun with it.R)

Do the wheelwells still extend all the way to the front seats with the JCW tubs?

That would be the biggest disappointment for me - get a 20" longer Jeep and still have to do a wheelhouse notch to get enough legroom to drive..

NO THEY DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) (sorry not yelling just excited) i had read several comments on this site about the wheel wells being extended. but when mine showed up i was pleasantly suprised to find that their is 20" of extra front seat clearance. yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's this about extra wheel well on the fiberglass tubs? Are you talking about the rear wheel well? I must know about this, my tub on my 75 is fiberglass and from JC Whittney. I have always thought that I was sitting too close to the streerig wheel in mine.

well, i am sure you know but a cj6 is a 20" longer version of the cj5.

apparently when jcw would have the cj6 tubs built the rear wheel wells were just extended 20". so you gain no more front seat room.

mine is not this way. I HAVE 20" OF ROOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah:)

    Is there another one? R)

    Sorry...;)

As mentioned, it's not so much an extra wheel well as the two normal wheelhousings were extended 20" -- which meant you lost out on the "CJ6 space" between the front seats and rear wheelhousings.

Good to hear they're not doing that now.
