Quadratrac???

I just sold a '77 Cherokee with the 360 th400 and quadratrac.
basically a fancy wagoneer. For cold weather travel and snow and off road it can't be beat. Hi/lo range, four doors and a heater that will drive you out of the vehicle. Real steady on the highway, and really light in the steering for a full sized four wheel drive vehicle. Good hunting rig. Space for the dogs, and some place to put what you catch on top.

The Cherokee book for AMC years will cover the transmission/transfercase real well. the stuff is the same for either cj's or fsj's

 

Thanks I found out sunday when I unloaded it off the trailer that it is a 77 Levi edition if it is the same let me know I would love to have a copy so I will know exactly what I am dealing with and its specifications.

Quadratrac. Think of it like this. In your front axle or rear axle you have a differential that divides the power between the two tires. The transfercase divides the power between the front and rear axle, so it also sort of acts like a differential. If you have a quadratrac transfercase, it performs like a differential with a limited slip. If you have a Dana 20 or Dana 18 transfercase, they perform like a differential that has a spool. Consider the dana's fully locked. Consider the quadratrac to be able to slip.
