    Thanks,

There are no direct conversions for the 225. There are several members that have done the mega squirt. I am currently collecting parts for the conversion myself, I have the control unit and fuel pump. I will be getting a GM throttle body from a 4.3 chevy astro van in the next month or so. That will get me started good. If you do some research o nthe mega squirt here:http://www.megasquirt.info/ you will find all you need to know.

I installed the Holley ProJection 2D kit on mine and it was really straight forward. Just make sure you get the optional closed loop kit. The new Commander 950 470 CFM kit would be an even better choice but it's about twice the money.

I was looking into the FI and went with the TA 470. Have yet to find any reason to go ahead with FI no.

Was going to go with the Holley kit like Orange did.

There is a fuel injection kit for the 225 available. AFI makes a kit specifically for the odd fire 225.

I also run FI on my 225. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have done several conversions to TBI injection for SB Chevy engines using stock GM components and a custom-programmed EPROM (to remove the speed sensor/EGR and knock sensor). I know there have been Megasquirt conversions but I am wondering if it is possible to use a stock GM EFI (circa 1990) and not have the conputer control the ignition, just the injectors. Has anyone tried this?

Yes, you don't have to have spark control. All the Howell systems are like that.

However, I think the problem with the odd-fire and the GM EFI is in the ECM triggering, not the spark control. The odd-fire has unequal separation of the cylinders firing, and the trigger signal for the ECM comes from the tach signal (?? or some such). The GM ECU can't deal with the uneven triggering, while the Megasquirt can ... or something like that.

This has been discussed before - if you search through the posts in this forum for a distinct keyword like megasquirt, you should be able to find the previous posts.
