does anyone know where i can find a moulded floor cover, to cover the floor and tranny hump. right now im using some rubber carped runner i found at lowes, it works but it doesnt look as good as somthing moulded would.

i know no one makes one for an ecj5, but do you guys know anywhere i can find one made for another application, or a universal one that i can make fit?

How about a piece of rubber roofing material? Maybe pick up a piece of scrap from local roofing company.

I use black Weathertech floor mats. They hold alot of water/mud, easily removed for cleaning.

Hey, something I can chime in on (my first time writing in on anything)! I like the JC Whitney mat you linked to...I cannot find anyone else who sells something anywhere close to original and I have ordered one for every CJ-5 I've owned...beware, the matching rear cargo mat (that is listed for sixty-some bucks) is a rip-off...it is just a square piece that matches the same texture and can be found pretty damn close at any carpet and flooring outlet. It is a little thin, but it lays well. Expect they send you the wrong mat the first time, so don't go heavy on the shipping...hope this helps!!

4 wheel drive hardware sells a molded vinyl floor covering by auto custom carpets for 1955-75 cj5. It's 200.00 bucks though.

I have one also. It's a decent, heavy mat. But, I can tell you it doesn't really block any sound. I also put some sound-deadening material on the back side of my mat. I couldn't tell a difference.

However, the mat did manage to hold moisture and rust my flooboards significantly. Great! IMO, I would get some high quality standard floormats, unless you don't drive much in the wet stuff (rain, snow, mud), or you can get yours in the dry really quick after it gets damp. I think a jeep that is driven in wet weather is just too leaky to use a mat like that due to it holding moisture.

I have one that I bought a few weeks ago for $199.00 that is supposed to be molded to fit the floor of an intermediate CJ5 (mine's a '73). I haven't installed it but its thick, big and heavy. Covers the entire floor of the jeep, including bed, fender wells and tailgate. Since I bought it I've cut the tool box out (was rusted worse than I thought) and don't plan on replacing it. So now I've got this fancy floor mat I can't use. Probably going to Rhino line the floor when I finish work on it.
Don't know if this one would fit your jeep but I'd sell it for a lot less than I paid. Boxing it up and shipping would be a pain but I could do it if you think it would work, and you're interested.

I've been running the JC Whitney mat for about 7 years or so. It fits fine in my opinion and I wouldn't hesitate to get one again.

I bought the one from JC Whitney about 20 years ago and it is just now in a condition where I have to replace it. It held up well and fit good with a little trimming.
