The article on the home page discussing the renegade I & II options says in the Kaiser press release that the renegades come with a ammeter and oil gauge but when you scroll down to the options list it says temperature and oil gauge. So which was it they can't both be right.

    OK Very confused.

I have the same gauge as the one above. Original color of my 71 is orange. It does not have a tailgate. It does have rear mounted gas tank (pretty common I think) It came with a 225 but has been changed to 231. No padded dash but does have padded visors. I changed the springs when I added the lift. Had a limited slip trac lock original.
    What else gives them away?

I tried to outline the items specific to the Renegade Packages in the article I wrote, you might check it out.

If you have an original tub with no tailgate I can't think of any stronger evidence myself. Tubs swap but if you have any of the other "optional" equipment...

I was asking about the two seperate gauges that are cut into the dash just left of the steering wheel. This is a renegade option for 70 &71. Am I wrong.

    Wrong about what?

You were correct, I made a mistake when I typed up the article. You are the first person to catch that slip in several years, at least the first to point it out to me. I thank you for that.

    Thanks Sparky,
Your article is what got me thinking about it. I am pretty sure the tub was not swapped, where the new paint has rubbed of it looks to be the same everywhere. I do remember when I added the lift that the original springs consisted of more than 5. Seemed to be 12 or 13.

The original color is orange. Under the hood is still the original color, also in the wheel wells where the tires have rubbed of paint etc...
