What years will interchange with a '64 cj-6. I've seen that the body styles cover 20 years, but what about the radiators? I'm in need of one that will cool a chevy 350. I've checked as far as getting one through summit, but that seems kinda pricey. The previous radiator is not junk due to improper mounting....

I'd suggest getting a grille from a later CJ, '72/up. That will get rid of the big sheet metal "funnel" that the stock CJ6 rad mounts behind, and give you more room for the 350. The later grilles have the rad inset and very close to the grille slats. You should be able to find a rad to fit that opening easily, with outlet/inlet in the correct location for your 350. It's easy to make a bracket for the later grille and just about any side-mounted rad with a couple pieces of 1" angle on each side, one piece drilled/bolted to the grille, one piece drilled/bolted to the rad, then the two angles bolted together. :)
HTH, good luck... take pics! :)

I hadn't thought in that direction. Thanks, now lets see what I can find.

Before I run in to some problems, I'd better clearify. The hood will work with the new grill correct?

Yep, the hood will be fine. I used a '73 grille on my '71. You will have to fab up a bottom/center mount for the later style grille as it won't line up with the bracket that sticks out from the crossmember on the pre-72 units. I used a plate between the framerails, it aligned everything with my body lift. If you have no body lift you might have to recess the mount a bit to be sure the hood, when closed, aligns correctly with the cowl.
It's a pretty easy fab once you get the stuff in hand and see what you need. :)
