79 CJ5 with 304 v8 Exhaust Question

    I have cheap mufflers out the sides and they still sound great. The mufflers hold together but the elements eat the pipe to the muffler.

    Don't get Purple Hornies by Flowtech I just installed a pair on my 79 CJ-5 my ears have not stopped ringing yet.Worst money I ever spent!

    think twice about a y pipe and single exhaust for your 304.. if you have a 2bbl carb the backpressure will work well and develop good torque numbers .. oh yeah and not to mention it will be quieter. just a thought, i never really cared for dual exhaust on my jeeps, IMO a good 2.5" single with a custom y pipe and a turbo sounds really good on the amc v8's
