Well I though I would post an update with pictures since the work is that we all like pictures. I now have the suspension on, 2.5" procomp, as well as the body mounts that I fabricated. I could not find ones for a 73 so I fabbed them myself and saved some money in the process. There are also some pics of the tub on just to see what it looks like. My friends and I along with the empty beers thought it would be good to take a look see at the ride height. I am going to get the rest of the PO's blue paint job off and then do the Por15 treatment. It is starting to move along. Let me know what you think or your suggestions.

Chuchua's race Jeeps all had blue metallic frames and yellow fiberglass bodies. Stranger color combinations have been known...

Looking good! Don't make it too pretty, then you won't want to get it dirty anymore! Keep the progress pics coming, fun to watch these projects come to life.

Thanks for all the comments. I made the 3 tub mount brackets in front of the rear tire 1/2 below the top of the channel while I was planning on making the 1 mount behind the rear tire flush. When the tub it on everything will line up and be level, although I do not know what the body mount bushings will come with or if they compensate for the varying depth of the mount. I have yet to weld the back mounts on yet, but I think I might just go for it. I am getting itchy to get it painted and on the road.

By way of an update I got 'er painted. I have two coats of Por-15 on it now and it's waiting for the ChassisCoat Black. And yes, the paint will not come off skin. I have a pic of the almost finished product. One quick question if anybody might have a good suggestion. My tub is fiberglass, not new, I have to get it mounted. Has anyone used the poly bushings or the 4WD hardware kit for glass tubs. I dont want to use the rubber, but dont know if I can get away with the other. Let me know what you all used and how it went for you if you could please.

Well I went through the whole marketed Por-15 Process; The Marine Clean 1 qt, Metal-Ready 1qt, Por-15 Rust paint 1qt, and finally the Top Coat 1 pint, in that order. I ordered mine from the por-15 store www.por15store.com and believe it was just under $100 with shipping. I was happy with it all and have enough stuff left over to get the tank, tranny mount, and some other randoms. Good Luck Matt.
