This guy I know found out that I was big into Jeeps and offered to trade me a load of Railroad Cross Ties for this:

According to him this is a 1947 Cj2a. Unfortunately I think it will need a new body tub, but I will not be sure until I drag it home. I am about to move so I am waiting until then to get it.

Looks like the problem to begin with might just be the starter in the passanger floor??? I've seen this before, just never got fixed. Does it still have oil on the dip stick?

    NICE FIND!!

If its a 2A then someone put a different windshield on it, that one looks like its from a 3A. The 2A w/s is split down the center.

    railroad ties...Sheeesh...

I didn't check for oil on the dipstick cause for that price I new I was going to take it regardless :).

It is going to be a few more weeks before I move but I've got the next few days off so I think I'm going to go and get it before he changes his mind. He only lives a mile or so from here, and I will only be moving a few miles down the road.

I live in Northeast Texas, a little community called Chapel Hill to be exact. And for those of you that have heard of Barnwell Mountain OHV in Gilmer, Texas it is only 20 minutes from here.

Though, with a busted D30 in my XJ, a 2 month old baby girl, and a 50+ hr a week job I haven't been in almost a year. Man it would be nice to get away for the weekend  .

Nice find! Just be sure to leave the mice there :). Looks like they had a pretty nice house going on that engine. Should be a decent project.

I'd vote that it's a 2A windshield that's had the glass replaced with a single pane. The w/s frame says WILLYS on it, doesn't have the vent panel on it, and it looks like the inner frame is hinged.

Looks like a nice project. Good find. I'd trade a truck load of RR ties for that any day.

It's a 2a windshield frame. It looks like someone took the split bar out of it and installed a 1 piece glass.

That CJ2A is a diamond in the rough! Heck, it even has the keys still in it... should turn right over... with a little TLC!R)
