If you're looking at the racing seats, I'd reconsider. I've used these in race cars and most have built-in rib supports, which make getting in and out difficult, at best. They also require a higher rear support, like a cross bar between the roll cage. The seat padding is minimal, as well. Don't misunderstand, they make great racing seats but I wouldn't use them on anything other than an all-out racing type machine. I guess it depends on what you're building. Hope that helps.

Had seats like the ones from Summit Racing. Terrible seats(even with padding) unless you like sitting on hard plastic. Very cheap quality hence the reason they're 36 bucks. Tore them out of my jeep and trashed them.

I have some corbeau baja ss seats that i bought from kNoWhere2Jeep for about 160 each. they were almost a bolt in deal i just used my old seat bracket and a little bit of angle iron to make an adapter. I really like them i just wish i had gotten the ultra baja ss seats in hindsight as they are a little bit bigger, I am 6'2" 300 lbs a tight fit in a cj-5. the only down fall to them is they collect water in the seat so it is a good idea to poke a hole in the cover and install some sort of a grommet to act as a drain otherwise you will be bailing water out with a mcdonalds cup when ever it rains.

I was thinking about those seats myself. Is the padding pretty decent in those? Do you have any pictures of them installed in your Jeep? They seem like a really good deal and I hate the old "you get what you pay for" but it is usually true.

Here are a couple of pics. I had more but cant find them right now. The padding in them is thick and comfortable, and since they are suspension seats there is no real frame under you just around the edge of the seat with a piece of some sort of fabric stretched really tight under the foam. I have mine leaned back a little farther that some people might like but after i do my Boyink notch and get my cage built they will be a little more upright and further back.

I have a set of Bestop high-backs on solid frame, and I find it 'difficult' to slide in and out quickly. I will be re-covering the original seats and installing the factory seat frames. The passenger side is a front flip (hinges are at the front of the seat) to give access to the toolbox. Highback seats will make this flip feature more cumbersome (seat headrest will hit dash). If you're not concerned with the flip feature, want highback seats, but still require access to the toolbox, you can modify the seat frame and make the seat quick remove. That way you just remove 4 clevis pins and lift the seat out (if modifying the seat frame, be sure to make all welds/connections structurally sound). I have seen this done somewhere, but I can't remember where. The Bestop seats are comfortable and give good support, they're just hard to get out of when I'm trying to jump out and chase that bull elk!:)

I have the corbeau seats. I mounted mine a whole lot more straight up. I don't like the whole reclined position on the seats.

I forgot to mention. I got the cloth ones. They don't hold water. They also clean very well. I am not at all afraid to get them dirty.

Scaryjosh, look at the way the seats are mounted to the frame-work, that is what I was referring to for quick disconnect of passenger seat. The pins used to mount the seat are clevis pins that can be taken out and will give you access to your tool box by lifting out the seat. Awkward, but gives you the strength required for the seat mounts. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I bought a set of seats out of and old Audi for $100 and made custom brackets. If you are willing to go the junkyard route you can get a better quality seat for less money.
