need a pic of the hood to windshield latch

    hey im trying to mount the latch for the hood on my windsheild and i cant figure out which way it mounts, anyone have any pictures of the hood latched to the windsheild so i can see how it works? thanks :hurrican: :)

    do you have to latch it by hand or is it supposed to latch when you open the hood up?

    Should latch automatically.
    Mine doesn't but the catch on the hood is a little bent. It is very close and I bet if I rubbed a candle on both pieces it would work fine.

    It should be spring loaded. So it catches the hood when opened. You
    have to manually press the lever to unhook it.

    HA HA I think I have mine upside down on my CJ. No wonder I couldn't get it to work!!

    Mine latched up automatically one time when I was doing about forty-five......

    Mine waited until about 50 or so in rush hour traffic to fly up. Catch worked great. Nothing like forgetting to latch the hood down. Haven't made that mistake again....

    I took off once with the shield down and not strapped, quite the shock when that comes up at ya at about 40 +.!!!!!

    may sound stupid. but are those factory latches? my '69 doesn't have them, should it?
