im replacing the fuel pump and water pump in this old 53 cj2a. i know i should go and buy a manual but i already have one around here somewhere. just wondered if the fuel pump replacement is pretty much straight forward. like nothing thats going to fall out when i remove the old one.

real easy... disconnect hoses, take out the two bolts that bolt it in and slide it out. Installation is reverse of removal. Just make sure you line up the pushrod properly with the lever on the fuel pump. Piece of cake.

it can be hard to get to the bolt at the front its easier without the lines there but its still awkward and tight. youll undoubtedly mutter a few cuss words in the process:rofl:

    If it is a 53, its a cj3a, 2a's were only produced from '45 to '49.

It could also be a CJ3B, or even a M38A1. At any rate, there's no pushrod. I guess I'm not the only one whose Chevrolet or Flathead Ford way of thinkin' gets in the way now & then [:) BW
