Just picked up a 1967 CJ5a Tuxedo Park 64k miles yesterday.New to jeeps, is this thing worth anything? Has been in a barn since 1985,was running when parked. Motor is now stuck. What the best way to free it up? Where can I find parts for it?, bumpers, radiator, upolstery kit, etc Thanks in advance , Tatr

Congratulations and good luck with that.
I recently had a 65 tux come my way. It had been in a garage since '82.
Fortunately the motor wasn't froze up though I had no idea if anything was wrong when it was put away and the person that would know passed away.
Anyway I would start out getting some kind of lube down in the cylinders.
As far as parts go, at the top of the forums page is a link to all the parts you need.

To expand a bit on Spize's comments above...

Pull all of the spark plugs. pour about 3 tablespooons of Marvel Mystery Oil into each hole. Let it sit for a couple days. Put a good socket on the crank pulley nut and with a big breaker bar and lever, try to turn the engine over by hand. If it doesn't move, try a squirt of PB Blaster into each hole, let it sit, repeart above until you can get the engine to turn. Once it moves, add some more MMO and give it a couple revs every day for a couple days.
Then... drain the crankcase. Replace filter. Fill the oil to the recommended level, substituting one qt of MMO for one qt of regular oil.
Install new plugs and points, be sure you have fresh gas and a fresh battery. Try to start it, maybe use a bit of starter fluid spray after a few cranks. If it fires up, check carb/fuel lines for leaks, then check timing.

Welcome aboard!! We'd like some pics of this rig!! :)

There are many sources for parts for this rig. Here's one suggestion, Krage Motorsports. www.jeepdoc.com
There are many other sources, including the membership here for good used parts...
Good luck, let us know how it goes!!

Tatr: Welcome from NC!! Where are you specifically? I am in a suburb of Raleigh. There might be someone near you that could help. Sounds like a fun project...love those '67 Jeeps. Pics would be good too!

Well, soaked engine(cyls) in marvel mystery oil and penetrating oil with no luck, pulled engine today and got 4 pistons free and two are stuck. Looks like a overbore and new pistons is now a reality. Its a shame because engine is clean inside, has only slight cyl ridge and no camshaft ware. Gonna put in another V6(69model) until I can get this motor to the machine shop. Thanks for all your responses. Hope to put up some pics soon. Tatr
