Intake heat?

    Aaron Got Primer?

My jeep takes 10 minutes or so to warm up in 30ish degree weather. I was thinking hot air from the exhaust manifold to the carb would help. I was thinking having a box of sorts somewhere on the manifold with some small furnace ducting/and or dryer hose would get the air to where it should go. But how should i get it to the intake.Going through the air cleaner would be hard since its an oil bat, would having another box around the intake hose work? or should i use something like a cone filter with a base that matches the hose on my intake and go form there?
I know this might be confusing but any thoughts or experiences on this one?

The F-head already has carb heat built in. You DO have a bypass hose installed between the water pump and the head, right? That allows a small amount of coolant to circulate through the head before the thermostat opens up, and contributes to cold weather manners.

FWIW, the Solex carb is known for being a cold-blooded beast. The original Carter is less so, but has its quirks as well.

Well, after looking at a few engine pics I dont see any hose, would there be plugs where this hose would go?

Could be. There should be a piece of hose, 3-4 inches tops that runs out of the top of the water pump to the front of the head. If you have plugs in there, you'll need to replace those with hose nipples.

I've got that set up. The hose from the driver's side of the water pump to the driver's side of the head. Always wondered what it was for, now I know. But here is my question....when hooking up the return heater hose from the heater core on the driver's side of my 61 cj5, can I leave this head warming by pass hose installed, and hook up my heater outlet hose to the inlet on the water pump on the passenger side of the pump?
ANY help would be mucho appreciated
    Thankyou much
