amp guage

got a ? Will a amp gauge cause my wiring to burn up. i was costing down a hill cause my tranny went out ,still don't no what the deal is there. any way my wiring under the dash started smoking an it died. i lost all power to the jeep i put it out with a fire extusner, but now i don't have any power at all not even to my fans. which are wired from the battery to a relay, so it killed my batt also i think.

 

Maybe you could post with some punctuation and capitalization? I'm not sure what part of your post is question and what part is statement.

If your amp gauge fails (goes open), it will have a high resistance and could generate a lot of heat. You need the ammeter wiring. If the wires are burnt in two or disconnected, the car won't run. You can bypass the ammeter by connecting both wires to the same terminal.

If you had a short in that wire it could cause a fire i think there is no fuse in that circut on a 73.

 

theres not a fuse in teh hole jeep an ive nt had teh time to go though it guess i have to make time to fix it rite now
