Can anyone post a photo of the fuel line routing on a 1975 CJ5??? I've installed my new tank need some memory refreshing. I don't plan to reinstall the vapor recovery equipment, but I am wondering about a return line and inline filter when using an electric fuel pump. I'll be feeding a 650cfm Edlebrock Performer carb.

    TIA..........

Mine, a '73, routed from tank along driver side high on the frame (held with clips), forward of firewall where the same bolt secured fuel line and brake line clips, then up to the pump then to the in line fuel filter and on to carb. It was hard line along the frame except for the last 18 inches or so to the tank and 8-10 inches to the pump. Between the pump and carb it was partially hard line and partially hose. I think the fuel hose is 5/8" that i used.

I ran my lines inside the tube.

    On the driver side.

I replacd all my lines with Earls stainless steel lines.

Now the exhaust does not heat up the lines and I do not have to worry about something catching the line under the tube and ripping them out.

Mine are on the passenger side frame rail. Pretty sure you want your filter before the pump to keep any crap from destroying it.
I don't have a return line to the tank either.

Right, I planned a filter between the tank and pump anyway. I wondered if a return line was needed but I'll just feed the carb from the pump. The tank can vent from the filler cap, right????

Yes always filter between the pump and carb.

You would be surprise the crap that gets pass the first filter.

I have one of those glass filters between the pump and the carb to see what is getting by. I am glad I did it.

Does the fuel line from the fuel pump to the filter have to be the hard line material or is there a stainless type flexible line I could use? This is for 258 motor.

    Thanks!

The factory setup on my engine was a hard line from the tank to the motor mount then a rubber line to fuel pump. After the fuel pump there is a hard line that runs up and over the valve cover then it switches to rubber and goes threw the filters. I can see no reason to use rubber line all the way only if you can be sure you can eliminate chafe.
