I checked the links to find some mm and did find a set but they were stock rep. Does anyone know of some polyurthane mounts ava? Or a mod that I can adapt to the 1967 cj5? While replacing the fuel lines I noticed that the rear mount bolts were sheared off and the front two were broken. LSS the jeep rolled down the side of a large steep hill sans driver and probably jumped and bounced all over causing the problems. The fuel lines were damaged by a tree and or brush that was ran over in the process. That is where the fuel lines were repaired. Very shoddy repair with copper and anything else that could be schrounged up out in the middle of nowhere in the hill country west Texas. I knew the fuel lines were damaged from the brush but not the whole story till now.

Why not use stock mounts? Polys are stiffer and a Buick V6 odd-fire is a rough running engine. Stiff mounts will really shake You and the Jeep.

If you are afraid that he engine will shift too much under certain high load situations-- then chain the engine with an inch of slack.

If you knew the history of what some Jeep have been through you would be amazed. Broken frames-- bent wheels-- one can only imagine the wild ride some old farmer took down a mountian hanging on for dear life.
Jeeps seem to have nine lives though-- just fix it up, run it and sell it to some other machanic who will rebuild the same Jeep--- bang it all up only to have someone else rebuild the whole jeep for the tenth time--

Its what old Jeeps are all about-

Update: I removed the sheared bolts off of the rear mount today here are the pix. I was able to weld them to a bolt and back them right out. Did not have to remove the crossmember :)

When the rear mount is installed there is very little space to tighten the bolts and I had to raise the xfer case asm to seat the bolts into the mount so I could turn them. I added lockwashers so that added to the lack of room. Is this normal for a rear mount or do I have a poor quality mount? I speculate that when installed before the bolts were not tightened properly or the lack of lockwashers allowed them to back out then get sheared off.
