in the bottom of this pic where the throttle linkage is attatched and the return spring is, there is a bolt going into the block...this is stopping me from going anylower with the idle, even though the idle screw will come out more, it wont let the linkage go down anymore cause it hits this bolt...is this a factory setup or another "custom" install????

I believe the small clip that's holding the spring that's on the end of your idle screw is supposed to be mounted to the intake manifild behind the carburetor. I am sure that return spring is not supposed to be mounted to your linkage, it goes on that plate behind the linkage. At least that's how mine is setup...

Erik the spring and clip is attached the way its suppose to be. The bolt is a custom install, there should have been a dash pot that there that slowed the throttle from being slammed shut when you removed your foot from the gas peddle.

Yes you can remove it, I removed mine as the dash pot was damaged and there hard to find anymore. I just put a short bolt in there to hold the throttle spring bracket.

weird.. I see it, but does that mean it is real? Just a pic of my carb/ throttle spring in the thread where you were wondering about intake hoses, etc.
