Is the bushing for the T18 to Buick V6 a special adapter bushing or is there a part number for it i can get from a local store?

I was under the jeep lookign at the exhaust and i glanced in to the clutch assembly and i saw that my bushing is worn kind of odd. Kind of bumms me since it is not that old and didnt have many runs on it, so i am kind of concerned on why it wore out so soon. Any ideas about odd bushing wear?

But anyway if i can get a part nubmer or application for the bushing that i can get locally, or i am reserved to have to order it from ovak and wait for it to get to my place :(

Check the bellhousing alignment. Instructions can be found on Novak's site.

Alignement should be good. Novak did the machining. Everything was bolted up good. For some reason i think it was because of my problems with the clutch fork pushing too much, and binding . I dont know, everything was aligned and tight. It only seems to be the lip is worn, jsut enoguh that if you look at it, it isnt circular anymore. but it is round farther inside.

The bellhousing aligmnent will vary from engine to engine and bellhousing to bellhousing. If you've ever switched either one, it's a good idea to check. It has to do with how the bell mounts up to the block. According to Novak, if it's off by a few thousandths, it can cause the pilot and/or input shaft bearings to wear prematurely. If you have a dial indicator, it won't cost you nothin'.... my nickel's worth of free advice.

Not sure how you are saying to check the alignment. I can slap the bellhousing onto the engine to see if it fits, but other than that i thoguht they were all the same.

Take a look at this link:

    http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/clutches_etc.htm

I've never checked the alignment of any bellhousing I've had before though I will in the future. I see it as cheap insurance.

I am assuming tha the trans is out? The thing I did was have the input turned down to fit the stock bushing. This allows me to purchase a GM stocker at any FLAPS. The alignment is done by the input bearing retainer. Unless the retainer is loose in the bellhousing, the alignment should be good.
