I need to put a cage in my cj5 and was wondering if anyone had ordered hoops or ful cages from summit. There prices are cheap and they look decent. I have access to a welder so I was wondering if anyone one has used them what part numbers and or sizes you ordered and how they came out. Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks Jesse

I don't see one listed for jeeps. 4wd hardware has them though and they are priced about the same as some of the other hoops Summit has.

Okay so I checked 4wd hardware and couldn't find any cages for a 62 they are all 79 or later model. and the prices are a lot higher than summit. Does anyone have other suggestions or should I just get one made. I can weld it I just need the bends made and the notching.

I ordered the one from 4wd hardware and it fits great, no interference with the softtop or dash, headlight switch is a little obstructed but it's no big deal.

Freight is a killer on these bars and hoops because of the oversize package dimensions... freight is sometimes more than the product!

Got anyone near you that builds race cars/sprint cars, etc? Those guys often have tubing benders and may build you a front hoop...

If that doesn't work out, I know some Jeepers over near Rochester that might be able to find something...

Not sure. I'll look into it. You need a full cage or just a front hoop to attach to an existing cage?

I got a 4wd hardware front hoop with my jeep when I bought it. I like the look of the retro cages a lot better than the new fangled jungle gym looking things. I am sure the jungle gym will be a lot stronger in a roll over, but I am OK with that. I took that front hoop and used the spreaders that came with it for the basic cage. I added the sched 40 pipe and some other old roll bar material I had to make the rest of the seat mounts.
