I just installed a 13-02 (T14A) from a '75 CJ5 in my '70 CJ5. The '75 had a T-20 transfer case behind it. Could someone tell me if the drive gear on the transmission for the T 20 is the same as the drive gear for the T-18 transfer case or do I need to change the drive gear to match the T-18. I tried to mount the T-18 but I can't get it to flush up to the rear of the transmission

The drive gear must match up to the main gear in the T Case. There are different tooth count gears available. Also different spline counts on the tranny output shaft. Also, your T-case is reffered to as a D18 or Model 18. T18 is a transmission.

Thanks for the replies. I took a quick look at Novak and it appears the drive gears are not a match. So, I guess I'll lay the T case on the floor and check tooth count. Since I don't expect a match, I'll try the rear output gear from the earlier broken T-14 I just pulled out. KB
