    Hello,
I have a leaky gas line between the tank and pump. It is not the metal tube it is newer, 80's??, hose. Can I splice in a new piece or do I have to run the whole thing? My tank is in the rear so it is more of a pain. Also how do you drian the tank? from the leak or where? just running it seems like a bad idea.

Siphon the tank out the filler may be an option, I would replace the whole piece not knowing the whole story, did it get pinched or just old and cracking, if it is old and cracking it could also be letting air in the system... if it was mine I would replace the whole rubber line...

I would drain the tank from the bottom by cutting the hose in a gas can...then replace the whole thing. It is not worth the frustration considering how cheap the rubber fuel line is.

An easy way to siphon the fuel out of your tank is to get a fuel siphon hose/ball often used for marine fuel tanks... I think you can even find them at WalMart.
