I recently acquired a '65 CJ-5 with the V-6 Dauntless engine. It has the Dana 18 with a single stick. Some have told me that the V-6 Jeeps left the factory with the single stick, others have told me that they left the factory with twin sticks and that the single stick was an aftermarket "upgrade." I am curious as to how this Jeep really left the factory - with one stick or two. Anyone have the answer?

    Thanks,

    Bryan

Single stick. The twin stick is considered an upgrade.

Single stick with a V6 and later F-heads. Twin sticks with earlier CJs.

If you desire the twinstick, it's a fairly easy swap. Our own Nickmil often has kits, Herm carries the kits or R&P Offroad should have them as well.

    If it's truly a '65 it wouldn't have left the factory with a :v6: .

Well lets just clarify the year, if it was made after august of 1965 it is a 66 model and could have the v6 from the factory, if it was made before august 1965 it would be a 1965 model.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to determine when it actually left the factory. Who knows, maybe it's really a '66 in disguise.
