I have the UBolt type hangars for my current leafs on my 56 cj5. I've got a lift kit but they will require the H-Type shackles. Is there a way to use the existing holes (where the threaded ubolts were) to hang new H-Shackles?

    thanks

You should be able to simply put the new style bushings in the holes.

Its easier than you are thinking. Just make sure your width is correct for your springs.

Mine were simply replacement stock shackles, 2 piece design.

If your '56 has the shackle reversal, be sure your replacements are long enough to prevent the eye of the spring from contacting the frame.

At least as long as the center to center measurement of your old "c" type shackles. Stock replacements are a little shorter between the holes IIRC.
