What year model jeep do you have? The early CJ5's had frames which were an integral part of the seat. The later CJ5's had a frame separate of the seat. The frame would mount to the floor, and door opening and the seat was bolted to the frame from the bottom.

These pics are from my '69. The first one from the driver's side, second from the pass side, third from pass side with the seat folded forward. In the last pic you can see that the frame isn't bolted in the rear on the pass side seat. You can also see one of the rear bolts for the drivers seat.

    Got pics of yours?

Filling in your profile will help us. John's right, the earlier seats had different style brackets than later. If we know what year your Jeep is it'll help us get the right info and pics for you. :)

They look nothing like that. They look like cj3 or cj2 seat frames. I saw the frames for sale in jc whitney mag. They look just like my seat i just dont know how to mount them.

Friend. If your seat frames look like CJ2 or CJ3 frames then they must not be original to a CJ5 and there's no way we're going to be able to tell you how to mount them. Unless of course some one here has mated CJ2 or 3 frames to a CJ5.

Sorry I couldn't help, but good luck to ya.

Buddy, there were a LOT of different style seat frames put in Jeeps from 1941 through the '70s. It would really help if you could tell us what year model your Jeep is. Photos of the Jeep and the seats would be even better. Otherwise, just set 'em where you want 'em, and start drilling holes and cobbling them in with homemade brackets. Just because they're "Jeep" seats doesn't mean they'll bolt right into YOUR Jeep.

They're simple vehicles and simple seats, but there's a lot of little (and big) differences through the years between all the models. Not just in the seats but the floors, mounts, fenderwells, etc. Then there's repro and fiberglass tubs....

If they look like this they are a early 3b or 2a and 3a frame and may not work in the CJ5. The drivers seat left front mount would bolt to the floor in front of the fuel tank on early seats and to the door lip on later seats(late 3b/CJ5). The right side drivers seat mount on early seat will mount in front of the fuel tank on early seats and on later seats it would mount on the floor between the fuel tank and the tool box under the passenger seat. The passenger seat mounts on special brackets that allow the seat to flip forward and these are 3 legged on flatfenders. All of these simply bolt through the floor with a body washer underneath. Hope this helps you.
