Ship an engine block?

    Has anyone ever shipped an engine block or transmission? If so, which shipping service did you use and how much $$?

    To many varibles. Do a google search under Truck Freight Quote. Fill out info and they will email you a quote. Last quote I got was for a SM 465 from WA to CA $175

    I bought a gm 181 cubic in 4 cylinder complete on ebay and had yellow freight ship it from NC to ca. $475 Be sure of the weight when getting a quote.

    Try "Forward Air" terminal-to-terminal shipping. Usually the cheapest.

    There is another company besides Forward Air that ships on the West Coast. FA is mostly for the East. You have to crate it but last year they were $50 per hundred weight, plus fuel surcharge, and it goes by air. The person on the other end has to go get it at the terminal though. It beats all the others by a big margin though.

    X2 and they have terminals in the West. Contrary to what the name may imply, they don't necessarily ship by air. I've used them twice with good results for both shipping and receiving.
