Coming home from work the other night and my lights went out with no warning, then about 15-20 seconds later came back on. The engine continued to run fine. There was no dimming prior to the outage. Someone at work said it might be the dimmer switch. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Yep, the dimmer is one of the usual suspects. Pull it, clean and lube it, clean the contacts, put it back. Also the pull switch on the dash is a usual suspect; these often have problems due to leaky windshields over the years. Some even have built-in circuit breakers that will act as you describe.
Should be one or the other...

x2 dimmer switch. They're famour for weathering, contacts corrode out, connections become loose. Replace the dimmer and observe the contacts on the plug also.

Had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Cleaned all the connections - especially the dimmer switch. All is back to normal - cheap fix :) .

Dimmer switch is one thing, bad circuit breaker on the back of the light switch is another. Or the circuit breaker is good and there's some shorted wiring someplace causing it to flip. Light switch could be bad, and you might have to check the ignition switch and wiring to the lights as well.
