    Hello,
I am looking for left tightening lugs. I have looked on all of the places listed in the stickyfor where to get parts as well as nearby part stores and junk yards. I can't find anybody with left tightening lugs. One site has the bolts, but no lug nuts, I didn't know if anyone know of any other places to look? Also my radiator has a little leak. Approx. 3 cups a day. Someone I know said something about spraying stuff in to patch the leak. Same kind of thing as the stuff you spray in a tire if it has a leak. /wondering if anyone knew the name of it?

The stuff you want is called Bars-Leak. Any local FLAPS will have it. Follow the directions on the label and it cures all but the worst leaks. But.......... at 3 cups a day you may have bigger problems. Is that while running ( under pressure) or just sitting, engine off? You may have some soldering to do if you've got a cracked tube or thin spot in the tanks. Clean it up real good, let it dry overnite and then run it so you can see where its leaking. HTH

If you have to - steel a little flour from the kitchen. A light dusting also is a good way to track down where it's leaking from.

I've also had good luck with "Alumaseal" for the radiator. Its a silvery powder you add and then run it. Somehow (magic?) it finds the leak and seals it.

If you've got an old radiator shop around take it in to them. I just got mine repaired where a fan blade sliced a 2" gash into the bottom tank on mine where the cores solder onto. They fixed it for $408) well worth my time and knowing it won't leak again.

    Yea, what Mike said.

Radiator shop took my still-working radiator, "pressure tested" it and blew enough holes in it that they had to sell me a re-core job.

When soldering a radiator leak, it's often doomed to fail unless the metal is clean, clean, clean. Hard to do on finicky tube areas soaked in antifreeze.

I found the trick was using Muriatic Acid as a cleaner/flux. Works miracles. Sold as a masonry cleaner.

I have had trouble with "alumaseal" plugging up my thermostats, plugging cores on my radiators and heater cores. It works great for old head gaskets though.
If you can, I would rather fix the problem before I would dump in a bandaid-in-a-can. In an emergency situation, use the leak stopper.

the shop by me turned down the pressure when he hooked mine up.

I've dumped in the leak stop, alumiseal, whatever it was called. Fixed it good, but it did plug up 1/4 of the cores in the radiator. They were kinda clogged allready, but the leak stop stuff filled them right up. If its weak enough to pop under 5-7 psi, I don't think I'd want to do any wheeling with it out in the middle of nowhere.;)

If it is leaks, why not fix it?

Any other solution is sub optimal.
