Looks like I will have to wait a while. They are closed until approx. June 30th because they are moving facilities. Oh well. Thanks for the info!

If you're patient, you can get them on e-bay for good prices. I got mine pretty cheap, I think around $50-$60.

I also recently picked up a factory parts catalog, with illustrations section for about $30 there too.

Thanks! The one currently up for bid on Ebay is for a '79 (sweet!). What is a decent price for a manual so I don't get ripped? I don't mind paying a 'fair' price.

I would check Sparky's link first to see how much the re-printed one's go for, and take it from there. I was willing to pay ~$60 for mine, but someone else might have only paid $30.

The single-volume manual for my '77 was about $70 IIRC. It's a reprint and I had to buy a binder, another $5 or so. The manuals from Turner's (www.thejeep.net) are pretty good quality as copies go. The originals are the best print quality, but they are bound and don't stay open very well. With the reprints, you can photocopy the section you need and take it to the bench with you - no worries then about greasy fingerprints, spills, etc.

The later manuals have multiple volumes and are more expensive. Check Turner's for retail prices.

You can also get manuals from www.books4cars.com and http://www.bjsoffroad.com/ (pick "service manuals" from the list of new additions)

John, let me know if you’re going to bid on this FSM I already have it on my watch list but would be happy to step aside if you’re planning to bid on it.

A few are available. Not every year. If you want the specific manual for your year, chances are 9 out of 10 that you'll need to buy your own copy.

For a specific project your local library probably has every service manual ever printed. I found out the main library in Tacoma does when I was killing time while doing jury duty next door at the courthouse. You can't check them out, but there is a copy machine there. This might also give you an idea on what you are buying before forking over $70 and make sure it is the one you want.
