I've had alot of requests for better pics of my homebuilt seat brackets. Here are a few.

    Under the drivers side seat...

You can see that my seatbelts buckle on the outside: I did this so if I have an overzealous passenger, and they push the button to unhook the seatbelt, the belt-end doesn't go flying and smack the outside of the tub!

This one is a good shot of the underside where the seat bolts to the brackets.

The first thing you should notice is, they slope to the rear! If you use the ones from 4WD, they are parallel w/ the floor. Mine have enough slope to the rear to be comfortable, and not be doing a "gangsta lean"...

They cost me about $23. (20 for raw materials, a rattle-can of black paint, and asking someone at work to weld them up!) When I get back out to the garage, I'll get the exact measurments of each section.

    The measurments:

    Starting from the front floor,...

3" tab (Drill a hole in this to secure to the floor...)
    4" (1st leg) *
    4.5" (2nd leg) *
15.5" (Long piece that fastens to the seat.)
3" tab (On back to secure bracket to back lip.)

Therefore, to make 4 brackets (2 brackets per seat...) You need 120" (10 feet) of 2" wide steel.

I suppose you could eliminate the 4" and 4.5" piece and make it only one single, solitary front vertical piece. You would change this piece's length to fit the amount of rearward "gangsta lean" wou want on your CJ.

    Enjoy!!!
