Those might be a tad on the loud side.
What are you running now Dan?

I am running a regular cheapie muffler. I had glasspacks. The turbo muffler is not that bad, i had one on th ecommando and it was reletively quiet. My main noise right now is an exhaust leak at the manifolds, the pipes are just not alignedso i am also going to get a flexiable exhaust coupler to make everything line up better and finally seal the exhaust and hopefully the light miss i have from this exhaust leak will go away

Yep I hate exhaust leaks. Tick tick tick. R)
I like Flow Masters myself. I'm thinking they have something real close to what you posted.

Dan, That looks like exactly what I need also. You install yours and tell me how loud they are. :) Then I'll buy some.

Saw those and thought hard but after measuring I'm going w/ these.http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ItemBrowse/c-10101/s-10101/p-100000174969/mediaCode-ZX/appId-100000174969/Pr-p_CATENTRY_ID:100000174969
Probably louder but only 3" OD and 14" long bullet. I'm building duals w/ factory manifolds to exit out the back and they will tuck in just behind the TC along the inside edge of the frame rail. I'm hoping turndowns will reduce incab noise some. BTW JCW has mandrel bent elbows to make almost anything you want. A pack of Hooker Weld Alignment Sleeves make it easy and prevent slag inside the pipe.:v6:

Dan that style has been around a long time. First saw them sold at NAPA under name "Walker Royalscott". I used to use them a long time ago. They were quiet like almost like a stock or turbo until you rev it. If you want quiet go with the longest, looks like that would be 24". Just my preference, don't use a straight through glass pack they're too loud and with the harmonics of the Buick it sounds better quieter. I'd give them a go I always liked them.

Aren't straight-throughs illegal in some locales (ie national forests) without a spark arrestor?

JMO - go as quiet as possible.

i had glass packs and they were a little to loud for me. I ended up with 40 series flowmasters and love em. mine dump out right under the doors wqith no turn downs. a little loud still but sound real nice.
    dan,
i bet those work out real good....no where near as loud as glass packs

I will still have about 2 feet of pipe after the muffler. So i have to add this to the list of things to do. :)

Hahaha! Not sure if those tailgunners would be cool on a Jeep but their sure head turners.
My last Jeep was a '68 w the 225. It had old glass packs and tail pipes clear out the back. As mentioned before, the harmonics of the Dauntless can be a little harsh. I took it to a muffler shop and had them weld in a custom bent crossover pipe and the sound really smoothed out. Sounded great.

Anyone ever tried the silencers that they are using on the ricers? Kind of like these.

They use them to avoid tickets I think and open em up to drag race.
I was thinking of something solid that would stay put instead of the adjustment stuff if the glass packs are to loud. I got the 24" to go outside the frame and out to the back corners.

OK Tim you talked me out of it. Will use these instead.http://www.forceautomotive.com/mufflers.htm 1.25" thicker, but no longer and an offset in/center out reduces the number of 45s I need by 4. So even though they are more expensive, I'll save about $20 over the glasspacks and they should sound a lot like Flowmasters.:v6:
