On the right is the disk that came with the NAPA clutch kit I bought about 4 years ago. Since I have everything torn apart I ordered a new disk from Krage and they sent me a Sachs.

They are identical except for the splined collar on the Sachs which protrudes to the flywheel side more than on the NAPA disk. Should this be a problem or should I send it back and go with a NAPA unit? Both disks are shown flywheel side down.

As long as the hub in the center of the disc doesn't hit the flywheel, you should be fine.. I just ordered a Sachs for mine. Hi Joe!

    Hiya Patrick!

Will bolt the flywheel on and check to see if it hits. Thanks!

Only one of those will probably work. Which one? I can't say. I had much less difference between two disks and one of them wouldn't release, at all. Good luck. I had my tranny out three times in one day before I figured it out.

I have the disk and PP bolted to the flywheel and everything fits just fine. The only difference that I could see was the stickout of the collar. I was worried that it would hit the crank but it clears it just fine.

Well after I got everything all bolted back together, guess what clutch won't release all the way!!??

I have it adjusted as tight as it will go but it still doesn't release. I put in a different TO bearing along with the disk but it was nearly identical to the NAPA unit I had in there. The only difference was the splined collar on the clutch disk and I could see no interference when I bolted it all together. Anyone have any simple things to check before I pull it apart again?  I put in a new pilot bushing as well but I checked it before I put it in and it spun freely on the input shaft.

Make sure the throwout fork is seated on the pivot ball properly.... I've had issues there with mine ...

Just went out and fooled around with it again for a few minutes. I'm really confused now because it seems to be getting better? Maybe all the new parts just needed to seat correctly?

Anyways I'm more that ****ed from earlier and done for the night. Will give an update tomorrow.
