What have you all done to plug the holes? Been to O'reilly, Home Depot, Lowes, and Autozone and nobody has steel 1/4" plugs w/ the right threads.:v6:

The v6 uses 1/2-13 threads not NPT plugs.

    Mike,
Not to be mean or anything, but thats obvious. The question is where can I get plugs? And not 1/2 but 1/4 -13 threads. But that's ID, if you know of an OD plug that will fit please let me know. So far all I've found is 1/4-NPT brass fittings that will work and that means either cross threading or re-tapping.

I don't remember the actual size but I got mine at True Value Hardware from the Plumbing section if that's any help! I had just about given up when one of the clerks pointed me in the right direction. You might want to check one of the little local stores just because they seem to know more about what they have and where to find it.I don't know about where you are at but the kids behind the parts counter at kragen's ect.. around here don't seem to know anything but new car stuff-honda and so on . just my trhought.

I don't know where you keep getting this 1/4-13 but they are 1/2"-13 threads per inch, you can get 1/2-13 set screws at any decent hardware store in the specialty fasteners. I paid less than $2 for all 6 of mine. The 1/4 you speak of is a pipe size, the fittings are not pipe sized but standard bolt threads!!!!!!!

At the risk of restating the obvious, 1/2"-13 TPI is a standard 1/2" coarse thread. If all else fails you could thread a coupla bolts in there and then grind off the excess. Problem solved.

I found these at a well stocked hardware store. They are 1/2" -13 as perviously mentioned and were about 50 cents each. They are hardly nocticable installed on the head.

My apologies to all, especially to Mike. Frustration had set in and I was obviously too curt w/ my responses. Perhaps being up for 24 like I am on Fridays was the reason. Thanks for the info, I'll be looking in the fastener drawers on my next trip to the Depot.:v6:
