    Hello folks!
I installed the Solex Carb. and a new set of plugs in my F-Head.
    Amazing.
    Glass-smooth idle.
Can't say there's any power increase, only smoother running and INSTANT start-up. Awesome.
    Cold Start is excellent.
All that was involved was an air-fuel and idle speed screw adjustment.
    Nothing to it.
Quadratec has them for $114 including shipping.
    Sweet.
Anyone want an old Carter YF that needs throttle shaft bushings? :)

Tell me about the YF...is it a 938SD model? And how bad do you want to get rid of it?

I love my solex too! I heard they weren't good in off-camber situations - but I've yet to experience any problems.

Rondog - I've got a YF too, if missouri71's doesnt work out.

I already have two YF's...a good 938SA off my original motor and a beat, rusty 938SC off a '59 freebie Fhead. Kamel tells me the best one is a 938SD model. I also have a Solex that came on another freebie Fhead motor, but I don't know its condition or if it's complete. Also have a 1-barrel Holley of some sort that was on yet another freebie Fhead motor.

There's another member here that had a 938SD (Sid?) for sale, but I wasn't quite ready to buy it yet at the time.
