Hey guys, My wifes family has ALWAYS been into jeeps so it was only time until she got into them. Well when we first started dating my truck was on 31s and completely stock except for a BL and some KC lights and I only mudded. As the relationship went on I found a 1975 CJ5 for $250 in a pasture which we have let sit for awhile. My truck now looks like this

We are now married with a baby and we are getting the itch to start on the Jeep. Plans are to Box/strengthen the frame, get the inside of the tub rust free, get a HP44 and a 9" out of an early bronco to swap in, then put 4.88 and lockers, Swap in a T-18 w/ the granny gear, D300 twin-stick and get the tera low 4.0-1 kit, Complete family rollcage, put a cam and split headers on the 258, 35s/36s not sure which, and then finish the outside of the body resto, and misc things like Led tail lights, some kind of slider, aftermarket seats.

Have i missed anything?? This rig will be following mine done trails consisting of rocks:twisted: , mud, some hills.

Thanks for any info you can give to me. Oh and this is her rig as we found it

Nice start but you've missed tons of stuff! The further into the project you get the more you decide you want/need. Just decide what you want it to be like when you are done and plan accordingly. Also, remember the law of cause and effect. You mention large tires. How you gonna stuff them under there? For every change you want there are 3 or 4 things you'll have to do to make it work.
Have fun and keep us updated!

Yup the jeeps front bumper is already off!! I have ALOT of researching to do before we start but i am REALY looking forward to it. As for lift i am staying with as little lift. So i have to research what springs we are going to use that flex well and give enough lift.

    Thanks everyone

BTW i am from Lawrence, Kansas we wheel ALOT at Tuttle Creek ORV

Errr? Really. There's two of us here near/in Manhattan. :D No wonder that scenery with the Dodge looks familiar.
