Basically I am needing to adjust my idle but I would like a blow up for future reference. It has started idling high in a short period of time and I am going to need to adjust this if possible early in the morning before I make the drive to work. It's burning alot more gas than I would like at stop lights.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. I'd check all your hoses, fittings etc. and use a can of carb cleaner to spray at the gasket mating surfaces. You'll hear the difference when you hit the leak!

I have sprayed carb cleaner at the base of the carb, checked all my hoses and it is still idling high. It get progressively worse the warmer the engine gets. If I adjust the idle screw it will get better for maybe a day or atleast till I get started back home after work when it is adjusted in the morning.

I have had problems with my fast idle cam being sticky in the past. I just spray it down with carb cleaner and work it up and down till it frees up. Mike

Sometimes a little bit of dirt will clog air ways. Try reving the engine and then put a rag over the carb horn untill it just abouts dies then remove the rag, give it more gas until it smothes out. Try it a few time. I have had good luck with this in the past.
