IMHO it was a novelty...not designed to be taken very far offroad...think Trail 1 at Tellico...;) Then dropped at a campsite somewhere.

I thought we had a member who owned one...said it made the Jeep much more stable going down the road.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't build it for a 6, actually. Another 20" of interior space would be pretty handy.

As Mike indicated extra interior space would be nice.

The pics I've seen of the camper covered the front cabin of the CJ enclosing it much like a half cab. I thought it also attached at the windshield? The camper looks to have brackets there that would.

Otherwise there would be a good bit of open space between the camper and the front seat of a 6/Commando I'd think. That's where the wheelbase comes in.

Mike - I think the way it's designed it will fit the 5, 6 and in this case the Jeepster. If they wanted to create more space it probably would've been better to build out toward the back but then again, that would've meant the axle being further back to keep it balanced. You have to draw the line somewhere. I quickly became frustrated shopping for a trailer a while ago. With only a few feet more you can have this floorplan. With a few feet more another. Before you know it you need a bigger tow rig. Finally settled on Holiday Inn size.

How does it fit all of those though? I'm still confused about how it enclosed the Jeepster/CJ-6 cabin since they were longer, Jeepster tub's a different shape too in the rear. Wouldn't be a tight seal, or even close too.

It does look like supports at the front of the half cab.

That's the picture I was looking for Mike.

I suppose that you could have a 1/2 cab on a Jeepster/CJ6 and run supports down to the floor behind the cab? But that just doesn't seem stabile to me.

You'd not have that same balance that it looks to have with the 5.

No...I always thought that thing was CJ5-specific.

Funny...the only place I could find that pic was on the Jeep-l site where I put it...;)

Maybe I understand now what Sparky was talking about. Looks like there are bracket mountings at the very front of the trailer that could extend down to the windshield. I don't think it would have to support much weight because most of it is on the 3rd axle and bumper connection. I suppose you could tow the trailer with or without a half cab. Did they make such a thing for the Jeepster? Regardless, I'll try to assemble all of the questions generated here and ask the owner when I return in a few days.

we had a customer who had one on his Tux; he used it to go on duck hunting trips; of course, the Tux had a Corvette 327 and Muncie 4speed in it to help haul it down the road. I got to drive that Jeep just once, with the camper off, of course.
I've got some more pics................................somewhere, been looking....

It was more like a 5th wheel arrangement but I would love to see it make a slow speed turn.
See what he wants for it. I have a CJ6 w/ V8 that it would look cool on. Where you located?

A price is one thing I won't ask the guy. There's a phone number at the beginning of this thread for those that would like to contact the owner directly.
