2bbl Rochester Carb Rebuild Step by Step

    Is there an online step by step instructon on how to rebuild a 2bbl Rochester off a 70 CJ5 V6? Thanks

    I did mine using the FSM. Fairly simple, just take your time.

    Guess if Im gonna keep this CJ Ill have to get me a FSM. In the meantime does anyone have the rebuild info on line so I can rebuild it tommorrow? Thanks

    If you buy a decent kit it will have a blow up of the carb. Don't be intimidated- the 2G is a very simple carb....

    You don't really need instructions. Just start taking it apart, and clean everything. Take pictures of all of the linkage outside the carb first, or it will take a while to figure out later (i know from experience). Soak small parts like the brass jets in carb cleaner, and the bigger parts too if you want. The kit will come with instructions on how to make adjustments for things like float level. Shoot carb cleaner through all of the little passage ways, and then put it back together with the new gaskets / parts.

    Really it's pretty simple. The kit that I bought came with a blow up picture of the carb disassembled, but I never looked at it.
