Sources for early style "gas fill plate" and grommets?

    Greetings,

I'm looking to replace the metal piece on the driver's side of the jeep that holds the underseat gas tank filler neck. There's also a grommet that supports the gas tank filler neck where it goes through the aforementioned metal piece. I looked all over the site, tried the "search" function repeatedly, etc. without success. Does anyone know where I might find these parts? Thank you. :flag:

That piece is part of the body - it used to be available from Jeep; maybe you can buy it from the aftermarket sellers now. If smeplace like Walcks or 4WD Hardware doesn't supply it, ask at a supplier of body panels like CLassic Enterprises. I'd expect the grommet is availalble aftermarket.

There's no "support" per se - it's just a hole in the side of the body that the filler neck sticks out of. The filler neck is soldered (welded?) to the tank, and that's what supports it. The grommet only keeps the weather and spilled gasoline out of the interior.
