After Market Fuel Gauge

My factory fuel gauge failed a long time ago. My question is can anyone recommend an after market fuel gauge and sending unit?

 

Have you searched the site? This topic has been covered multiple times.
I'm using a Speedhut gauge cluster and a Crown sending unit.

 

Stay away from Omix. They’re junk.

There's a LOT of info on fixing/restoring original gauges. Take the time to search and you'll find lots of solutions, but here's a thread on OWF that does eventually go in to repairing the factory units

Okay, sounds good I’ll start some research.

 

Is it the gauge or the sending unit that's not working?

 

The trick is matching the sender resistance to the gauge. The thread I mention above does have the specific ohm values so if you're testing or buying new it's east to match up with a digital multi-meter. You'll need to check the built in voltage regulator behind the gauge as well (I think it should be 5vdc).
And take the time to redo your whole speedo look, painting the needles etc. Everytime you look down you'll smile!
