Jeep Kelsey Hayes 6x16 “ wheels with new tires mounted and balanced.
These are the rarest of all Jeep wheels.
Only used on 63-65 Willys trucks and FC170.
Wheels were blasted and painted with only the finest paint. SPI polyurethane 2K.
With 6 ply 235/85R 16 Pirelli mud scorpions.

STA 7.50 x 16” Super Traxions.
These are the well siped, studdable snow tires for maximum snow/ ice traction.

Where were you a year ago??
I looked for those for a long time, before we finally decided to go a different direction with my son's Willys

 

I just want to see all the build pictures and info on the 3B. Starting with, for now - What’s that Color?

 

You wanna see a write up about my 3B recovery Jeep ?
I believe I could do a write up over the upcoming winter days.

 

I could get really interested in those 235x16’s and wheels if you could help me confirm they would clear the late 70’s disc brakes on the d30 that I’m about to build for my 3B.

 

Too bad you are so far away. I would buy the Jeep T18 case and modified Ford T18.

 

Pete (compostwerks) said he was planning to bring me some KH wheels from Canterbury NH sometime this year.
If he does then maybe he would haul the tranny stuff back your direction.
Long shot but possibly could happen…….

 

T15 bolt in and replace my t14 behind dauntless 71?

 

Length is different and the output splines are different. Much stronger trans though.

 

T15 will bolt direct to Dauntless. Includes a new 3/4” ID genuine “Oilite” crank pilot bushing plus bolts.
This will push the transfer case back.
T15 is 11-5/8” OAL adapter included.
If I recall correctly the T14 is 8-3/8 OAL
So TC must move aft 3-1/8”.
Move the crossmember back one notch or 2-1/2” and re-drill (if required) to accept the T15 snubber.
T15 requires a 6 spline main drive gear. (output).
Shorten your rear and lengthen your front propeller shaft by 3-1/8”.
Likely need to modify the transmission cover too.

Personally I prefer to leave the transfer case in stock location (flat fenders) and position the Dauntless the required distance foreword.

 

3B a runnin, these 6x16” KH wheels have the same amount of inset as do nearly all KH Jeep wheels. Meaning the centerline of wheel is 3/4” inset from the wheel mount surface.

Study these pics carefully.


Here I have placed a 1” block on inner edge of rim to show where the rim taper begins.
